Changes in Lake Hit Park Area Sparks Complaints

Parents in Leftwich Park protest recent lake slope changes after a near drowning. City officials say Friday’s accident wasn’t caused by the south side cut as dirt work to reshape the north side will begin soon. Ten year old Don Culpepper fell in and was saved by nearby teens. Apollo 16 Microbes Exposed During Space Walk

Apollo 16 astronaut Thomas Mattingly stepped into deep space for a 10 minute walk to retrieve film canisters and expose about 60 million microbes to space. Joined by John Young and Charles Duke aboard Casper the crew will study how vacuum, radiation and cold affect microbes and inform future Mars missions.
