A four stick dynamite bomb exploded on the 19th floor of Amtorg the Soviet trade office in midtown New York with no injuries after hours of evacuation. A second device on the 20th floor failed to detonate and a warning call cited militant Jewish Defense League slogans. Amtorg, the USSR’s commercial arm in the United States, was founded in 1924.
