Child Burns To Death Inside Auto
A young mother watched in horror as her six year old daughter Michele Rene Hatsell burned to death in a parked family car near the Children s Clinic in Lubbock. The boy Donnie Lynn Hatsell escaped unharmed as firemen extinguished the blaze in about two minutes. Fire Marshal A C Black said the cause was not yet determined and that it may be a flash fire. no foreign matter was found in the car. The scene left both mother and boy in shock.

Bandit Robs Preston Milk Store For About $50
A lone bandit armed with two small pistols robbed the Preston Milk Store at 1101 Mth St around 10:20 p.m. Friday, escaping with about $50 in cash. A Mexican American man, 5 foot 4 inches, 135 pounds, wore blue work pants and a T shirt. Police received tips of a suspect fleeing toward 36th Street and Avenue J, with earlier calls about a man trying to enter a house near 36th. This marked the fifth armed robbery in Hub City in five days.
