Fast moving storms swept across the South Plains with marble size hail and heavy rain causing property damage in Slaton and Seminole. Reece AFB sighted two funnel cloud blips on radar near 9 pm though not confirmed by authorities. Lubbock reported up to 2.50 inches of rain with local 1.6 inch totals in Lockney. Temperatures were in the mid 80s as moisture moved in but no widespread rain fell. Several towns, including Lamesa and Tahoka, saw beneficial precipitation while Bridging clouds lingered toward midnight. Coffee in Lockney hailed the rain as the best in months. More rain possible later tonight across the Panhandle.
