Boston October 17 Mrs Eileen Perkins 20 of Everett found dead in suite 3 6 Clarendon street after an operation deemed bungling. Mary J Henderson 37 is charged with murder and Sarah Butler mother of the victim will face accessory charges. Police report she aided the procedure and accompanied Perkins from Everett.
The steamer City of Cleveland with the Quayle in tow drove on the Beaver River north end. A wrecker Monarch with lighters and two steam pumps and about 15 men departed. The City of Cleveland is in bad shape and leaking. No location for the Quayle is known, but it is believed she cleared the islands. The pair left Friday with iron ore for Lake Erie as southwest winds threaten total loss.
Indianapolis reports that Republicans control the city government and the new comptroller says the city is absolutely bankrupt with only $2000 on hand. Salaries must be borrowed to pay officials, but no criminal charges are filed against retiring officials.
