In Olneyville last night about 6000 Atlantic mill operatives gathered for a mass meeting when the floor collapsed causing panic. Gas pipes were broken and a beam saved hundreds by landing on an ice chest. no one was seriously hurt. Lake City Fla Nov 7 William Duncan a white merchant was killed in his Lake City junction store. A coupling pin was used to beat in his brains and robbery is suspected. Four Negro suspects are being tracked with dogs and may face lynching if captured.
Philadelphia marked a patriotic return with the liberty bell as crowds cheered. Ten thousand schoolboys lined up alongside firemen militiamen policemen and other participants to form a large parade amid flags and bunting.
In Oklahoma City on November 7 a negro named Clark his wife and daughter were found in a cabin with throats cut and skulls fractured by an ax. They had been assaulted and robbed of $200. Mrs. Clark is dead. the husband and daughter are gravely injured but alive.
Paris reports Foreign Minister Develle states France is prepared but not threatening. He says the government's policy rejects secret treaties and adventures, and that once the republic is invincible France will uphold its glorious traditions.
Two cases of smallpox were reported to the Boston board of health and quarantined at the smallpox hospital. Both patients came from different city areas and were passengers on the steamer Catalonia, which arrived October 15.
