John Craig shot and killed his wife Emily Hunter Craig and her brother George Hunter in Glendale after a divorce, then returned to Los Angeles and killed his father-in-law William Hunter and mother-in-law Mary Hunter. He attempted suicide but survived and said he was driven by harassment from his in law family amid disputes over community property. Craig, a known political figure, was wounded but to recover.
Boston July 26 Gen T W Hyde of Bath will be president of the Meigs elevated road company. He has accepted the office and the organization of the company is expected in a few days by reported authority from Associated Press.
The 30rd militia brigade has been withdrawn from Chicago as the stock yards labor force remains large. Police report little to no unrest from unemployed men amid the ongoing strike and heightened activity.
Associated Press reports in Denver that six men have been arrested for tar and feathering Adj-Gen Tarnsey. Deputies who made the arrests have been threatened with a similar fate, highlighting a tense retaliation climate in the aftermath.
J C Ayer Co of this city sued Norman L Munro and later his estate over an advertising contract to print and distribute 40 million copies of a Family Story Paper edition. 263000 was to be paid to Munro with 4 percent to Bradshaw of New York. Munro died after 8 million copies shipped. executors chose to abandon the project. Bradshaw demanded 15000 and Ayer company 19000, with executors opting to settle rather than sue.
Reports from all sides say yesterday afternoon's storm almost became a cyclone, with Lowell narrowly avoiding its full force. No damage beyond scattered electric wires reported as the danger passed.
Uncle Jim Brooks gathered a flock of about 600 people around him at Boston and Maine Central Street Station this morning and found them aboard the cars bound for Old Orchard.

The city and Chelmsford filed petitions to designate the Princeton street route as a county road. The Country club seeks a boulevard extension to the Tygsboro bridge, also as a county road. Endorsed by county commissioners, surveys are underway and work may start early next month with a $25,000 budget.
Funeral services were held yesterday in St. Joseph's church with a solemn requiem mass for Mrs. Diana Perenier, Rev. Father Forget officiant. Interment followed at St. Joseph's cemetery. Also held were the services for Wyman O Hanson at his residence on Lagrange court with Elder John Ward officiating. interment at Edson cemetery. Hattie Berry's funeral occurred this afternoon from 44 Hamilton corporation with Rev. Q. Mallory presiding. interment at Edson cemetery.
In court today Bureau pleaded guilty and Shea not guilty to break ing and entering the freight car. Agent Taft testified to cotton cloth shipped in car 12 000 and a broken seal found this morning. Officers Hogan Tryder testified to seeing the seal broken and the cloth in Buteau arms. Kew recounted a conversation where Buteau admitted breaking the seal and both men acknowledged breaking open the case. Judge rye ordered both men 3500 to the superior court.
John Persale charged with assault and battery on Simeon Cohen had the case continued to tomorrow. Fight drunks were fined and Thomas Donohee was sentenced to three months in jail.
The report predicts bicycles will be cheap this fall while manufacturers plan to market new machines next year around £100 with no guarantee. Given build costs of $28 to $37, the proposed price appears high and excessive.
The ad from U S Tea Co at the corner of Central and Prescott streets promotes a 36 piece tea set for 265 dollars and a 112 piece dinner set for 5.95 dollars. Only five crates remain, with 96 sets available at this price.
After a vacation, Tremont and Suf mills operatives expected a restart on Monday but at 11 45 this morning Lord Wan in Boston ordered no startup until August 15 giving workers two more weeks of forced layoff.
Saturday night agent Drury and Sergt Webster reported a horse driven by Hiram Gardner at high speed on Central street. Gardner denied twelve mph driving. Jeremiah Crowley represented Gardner. Judge Frye cited the fast driving ordinance and fined Gardner five dollars.
A youthful correspondent reports electric cars added to Fort Hill park. The item appears among varied local notices including sales, legal matters, and mill employee union gathering plans.
About noon today a Knox and Carlton delivery team on Paige street near the alley to Merrimack street had a horse untied in the alley. A two year old girl, daughter of John Conroy, was in a baby carriage. the horse rolled the carriage against a wagon, injuring the carriage and severely shaking the child with a bad cut on the forehead. The driver was inside the store during the incident.
Crowds gather as J. E. Shanley and Co. hold a closing out sale in their longtime store. Shoppers are urged to act quickly to avoid missing bargains during the event.
The blue dye house started last Monday to run off a large indigo order at Merrimack Manufacturing. It may take some time to complete the order. The shipment likely originated from England a couple of months ago.
A council meeting report credited Councilman Gormley with supporting buying the Gerry lot when Bar elay actually spoke in favor. Gormley opposed the purchase at the stated price, and the miscredit was noted in the Tuesday session recap.
The Middlesex North District Agricultural Fair will be held at the fairgrounds on September 14, 15 and 16.

The Northern American Turnerbund convention adopted resolutions opposing restrictive immigration laws and the inclusion of religious topics in public schools. It expressed sympathy with laborers and supported government ownership of railroads telegraph lines gas works and mines. The next convention will meet in Louisville in 1893.
A provincial picnic for grocers and tradesmen at Sylvan Retreat Willow Dale drew a large crowd with dancing, prizes, and races including a base ball game between grocers and butchers. Events featured potato race Kapanna race proprietor and clerk contests and a greased pole. A later voting contest offered mounted deer horns as a prize before a minor runaway caused harness damage.

Margaret McManus aged about 40 on Hudson street was found murdered in her home with throat cut from ear to ear after her husband reported the death. He said he heard voices in the room and has been jailed as police believe he killed her. Five children left. husband previously discharged from B and A railroad for drunkenness. The story notes a store closing for summer sales with deep discounts on boys wear and garments.
Gen Alger of Michigan nominates McKinley for president in 1906 at Cleveland reception hosted by the Tippecanoe club. Gov Merriam of Minnesota also mentions McKinley as a presidential candidate. McKinley laments Democratic rule and tariff uncertainty while praising Republican principles amid national political volatility.
In Wilkesbarre Pennsylvania on July 20 a shaft accident at Pixton Lehigh Valley mines killed superintendent Col Mason and asst. superintendent Robert Mercer as they rode a carriage on a tour of inspection. William Wilson, another official, survived.

Salem July 26 A press report says Ann Larry a worker at Nanmkeng cotton mills was fatally injured this morning when her hair was drawn into a loom tearing scalp from her head authorities reported the accident occurred at her workplace in the mill district
Charles Wilson a colored man was hanged for the murder of Moses Hodges on November 8, 1803 in St Louis. The execution was reported by the Associated Press. John S Johnson, a world record smashing cyclist, seeks to join the Press Cycling club to elevate its national standing.
Five marble workers from Chicago arrive to begin work tomorrow on the new post office project. The workers are described as Germans.
Associated Press reports Queen Victoria will watch the private sailing race between the Britannia and Vigilant on August 4. The two yachts are set to race at Penzance tomorrow with spectators and official observers anticipated.
A strong and disagreeable odor from sewers and manholes has drawn much unfavorable comment on the streets. Yesterday the stench from central and market streets was especially terrible.
Torre reports that the Japanese minister to Washington is recalled and diplomat Kakine is sent in his place amid disputes over territorial matters. The reshuffle follows friction in settlements and territory negotiations between Japan and the United States.

Major William H. Upham was nominated for governor by the Republican convention as reported by the Associated Press. The Milwauker dispatch notes Upham’s selection as the party’s candidate in the upcoming race.

Newport July 6. Cesroner's inquest focused on the death of Thomas Sweeney after witnesses described a fatal blow by Barton who is charged in the case. Sweeney, said to be drunk and crazed, reportedly had a cut above the eye. Barton remains out on bail. The sage is unfinished.
Associated Press dispatch from Tin Sux reports Wallace Burtt being hanged at 11:02 a.m. in Pewerrston for the Sept 4, 1893 murder of Mr and Mrs Rightly. Also notes U S Cordage buys Pearson Cord for 3 1 600 000 and a fatal fire in Norton Mass destroys a box shop lumber yard and four homes with about 125 000 loss.
Michael J. Mahoney, a noted baseball umpire, will marry Hannah Taylor of Everett Street next Wednesday. The notice appears in a local printed item and invites readers to get printing done at Tuk Sun office.
Centralville residents on Bridge street urged a sidewalk between Thirteenth and Eighteenth streets. The landowner with large abutting land opposed the effort, claiming twenty years of similar refusals. The street committee will survey costs. Nearby land valued at 2500 per acre, 40 acres within a mile of the post office, with sales and offers suggesting much higher real value if taxed fairly.
The Board of Health canoed down Hale's brook again following Monday’s trip. On both treks they detected a strong stench during drought and after a freshet. Officials align with J F Manning that the source is a surface sewer breaking into the stream.

Edward Maguire was arrested yesterday after a dispute with Hon. John Welch at a drinking fountain. The boy says Welch took the dipper from him and he used profane language. The case was continued until tomorrow.
Resolutions of condolence on the death of Dr Bradt were adopted by the Middlesex North Medical Society at its Lakeview meeting last evening. The discussion on city water suggested the water board is making every effort to provide a good supply.
