The Morgan woman, who died yesterday at the jail, was buried this morning in Edson cemetery with J. W. Brooks in charge. Mrs. James McManus, who died in Fitchburg, had a funeral from her late home in Central ville. The large cortege included many relatives and friends, with burial at the Catholic cemetery where Rev. James Gilday conducted the service at the grave.
Henry St George passed Pierre Rouleau s Little Canada home yesterday when Rouleau struck him in the face without warning He then paid St George 250 to settle the matter St George had Rouleau arrested and today in court Rouleau was fined 3.
Agent Drury arrested Maggie Welch around noon for deserting her months old child. The young mother has had no fixed abode since birth and moved frequently. She left the child last night at the tenement 137 Adams Street and fled this morning, prompting a police complaint from a nearby resident. Welch was taken into custody on Central Street.
