Prawda, a German immigrant, is arrested, denying guilt.

WAVENHILL Mass December 28 James O Neil of Rocks Village near this city brutally assaulted his wife with a hatchet leaving her with severe cuts and bruises and not expected to survive. The attack occurred as she prepared to seek legal counsel in Amesbury. O Neil fled toward the woods but was pursued and arrested shortly after. He is described as about 45, tall and strong. his wife is about a year younger and much smaller.
In Danbury Connecticut on December 24 the executive committee of locked-out hatters announced an opening victory as Bellaire of Bellaire Lurch & Co requested the committee order old bands to his factory for 1 pm and organize a large shop crew, the first sign of change since the 38 day lockout that left 1000 jobless.
