Frank Cullen pleaded not guilty to larceny of five dollars from Coburn R. Lee after attempting to buy a pint of ale with a five dollar bill and returning with no change. Cullen was found guilty of larceny and drunkenness, then sentenced to jail. sentence later altered to workhouse time. Annie Morgan faced liquor keeping charges with Officer Welch testifying. Michael R. Dacey was convicted of being a common drunkard and fined twelve dollars or three months. Deputy McQuade led prosecution.

Last night the Police and Underwriters teams narrowly topped 2400 in league play. Underwriters star Peabody rang up 638 with Edwards 493 and Kerwin 465 for a 2405 total, while the Police led by Donaldson's 493 and Jim Connors 472, totaling 2401. Pastimes No 1 trailed.
E. H. Jones the new secretary of the Y M C A will speak at the men’s meeting tomorrow evening. H. Kirk White of Nesmith Street sailed today on the Lucania for a trip to Europe. James J. Kerwin of Harvard Law School is spending the holidays in this city. John J. O’Connor of Harvard Medical School is spending a few days at his home in Chelmsford. Mrs. Michael Muldoon and daughter Marguerite have returned from Providence R I where they visited Mrs. William Cassidy.
J H Martin is a salesman for H C McOsker at 123 Central St advertising wall paper and window shades at bottom prices and offering framing of pictures cheaper than elsewhere.
A Chelmsford family was disrupted by a husband and wife quarrel. The husband left in the morning after the dispute and returned to find his wife had taken the household effects and left town. He contemplates suing for difreef.
Reports from Tremont Suffolk and other New England mills indicate busy operations with large orders and immediate consumption. Yale mills run full time through summer, but overall season averages remain uncertain as manufacturers anticipate stronger business after booked orders are fulfilled.
Opera House reports a second excellent performance of Liberiz last night with a larger audience and strong reception. Matinee today and another show tonight plus upcoming acts include The Queen of Hearts and George Thatcher burlesque Africa. Frank M. Wills' The Two Old Cronies ends today after a highly satisfactory engagement. Marion Manola stars alongside a popular acting husband and a stronger supporting comedy than last season’s Friend Fritz.
The Continental tea party in Huntington hall next Tuesday night offers tea from 6 to 8 followed by entertainment led by Mrs. Talbot Carmichael Carracott and others. Living historical pictures depict Puritan era events, several dances, an American orchestra will play, and post show dancing will be supervised by Willis Farrington and a long list of aids. Tickets are 25 cents.
Funeral services were held yesterday for F H Whitney at 9 Ware Street with burial in Edson cemetery. Mrs Josephine M Scott and Thomas W Kilgore also had services, Kilgore later sent to Merrimack N H for interment. Lida E Wardrobe and Robert Hadden funerals followed at Newport and Chelmsford Street with interments in Edson cemetery. Kilgore’s career spanned Lisbon Me to South Glastonbury Conn and mills in Boott Tremont Suffolk Wakefield Fall River Westvale.

Oswego New York April 7 Colonel John B Leverick died at age sixty six He commanded the Eleventh New York Volunteers in 1881 and raised the One Hundred Sixty third New York Volunteers in 1862 He also served as editor of the New York Ledger and held a prominent role with the New York fire department.
The Fall River Herald comments on an inscription over the door of the Odd Fellows building reading ODD FELLOWS BUILDING. Lowell is noted similarly with the inscription on the vin building and the armory slab where the letter V is treated as V.
James P. Roane, brother of John F. Roane, died at noon at his residence 6 Summer Street. Aged 31, he had been ill with a complication of diseases since Christmas. He was formerly employed as a dark with Charles L. Marren and was a popular, unmarried young man. The bereaved family has many friends.
