New York September 27 At a meeting of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers President Scott said that since the organization began in 1884 the value of electrical installations in the United States outside telegraph and telephone plants has risen marvelously. He noted the U S has two and one third times the kilowatt capacity in power stations and three and a half times the mileage of electric railways with only one fifth of Europe and Britain’s population. The New York power houses in operation and under construction could replace central stations in Great Britain or Germany and would operate all British and European railways combined.
