New York on Sept 16 a man named Thomas Sharkey was arrested for assaulting banker Nicholas Fish, who died early today. Fish, 53, was attacked after a dispute over payment at Erhardt's saloon on West 34th Street, then collapsed on the sidewalk. Police tied Sharkey, Mrs Libby J. Phillips and Mrs Nellie Casey to the case as detectives probe motive and sequence of events surrounding the fatal incident.
President Roosevelt will host as luncheon guests and likely at dinner Senators Hanna Spooner Allison Aldrich and Lodge at his Oyster Bay home today. The President and Mrs Roosevelt rode through the village to view the decorated buildings in tribute to yesterday's reception. Theodore Jr and Kermit Roosevelt departed for Groton Massachusetts for school. Kermit begins his first year there.

A group of Presidio soldiers gathered opposite a saloon in San Francisco on September 16 and began throwing stones at the building. Police were called as the soldiers assaulted officers with sticks and stones, fired shots, and wrecked a second saloon before setting it alight. The fire department extinguished the flames, other nearby houses suffered damage, and troops retreated to the reservation with only minor injuries reported.

Henry Swan a 14 year old boy was injured this morning at the Carpet mills when the index finger of his right hand was hurt He received treatment at the Emergency hospital for the minor laceration and swelling resulting from the accident.

In a brief morning court, John N Mullin of Tyngsboro faced drunkenness and assault and battery charges involving his 15 year old son A William Mullin. Judge Hadley sentenced Mullin to six months in the house of correction for drunkenness and four months for the assault.
