President Roosevelt left Oyster Bay aboard the Sylph at 9 25 a m with Mrs Roosevelt and the children. Mrs Roosevelt and Kermit landed in New York, the Sylph then went to Jersey City. The President and party left for Washington at 1 14 p m traveling in a special attached to a Pennsylvania train. On arrival in Washington the car would switch to a Baltimore and Ohio train. Messages of congratulations came from King Edward and President Diaz of Mexico for his escape from a serious injury in the accident last Wednesday.
