Edward Healey, a Westford farmer, after leaving work, spent wages in a Lowell saloon and ended up in a police cell. He faced Judge Hadley and will return in two months. Several others faced charges of assault drunkenness and larceny with sentences including jail time fines and probation.
Mr Horatio Wood aged 65 of 174 Liberty street died from a cerebral hemorrhage following a fall from an electric car on Westford street. He slipped while alighting as the car halted, was treated at the scene and home, then died Saturday morning after rapid decline. He was a well known Lowell resident, son of Rev Horatio Wood, and survived by his mother, sister Grace and another sister Mrs Walter H McDaniels.
Edwin Longe Necker aged 21, a quarterback for the Brown Preparatory School football team in Philadelphia, died after injuries from a game last Tuesday. He was heavily thrown, his spinal column fractured, and he became paralyzed.
Jerry McAuliffe of Lawrence sustained a fracture of the collar bone while playing football on the North common Saturday.

The lamp broke and set clothing ablaze as she suffered deep head lacerations and burns. Also noted are other local tragedies: 16 year old Ray Warner dies from injuries in Colrain when wagon end board loosens and horses bolt. 19 year old Catherine Thompson in Newton Upper Falls attempts suicide with a carving knife. 15 year old James Kearns is accidentally shot and killed in Sebastopol during a rifle incident involving Edward Kearns and James Dacey.
