NAMED FOR COUNCILLOR, Marcellus H. Fletcher was nominated this afternoon by Democrats as their candidate for the Governor's council. Separately, Edward Dube Joseph St. Peter and William Clark were arrested this morning for alleged larceny of lead, with Officers Lennon and Libby making the arrest.
Virden Illinois October 13 Adjutant General Reese arrived with the state militia declaring ex Lieutenant Preston was not killed by the militia as they fired no shot. In Bellefontaine Ohio on Tuesday night James Prall murdered his wife at Middlesburg near the city and fled. Abused by drink his wife had left him and filed for divorce. Authorities sought Prall for lynching but his body was found in his home the next day. he had killed himself.

Kansas City Oct. 13 A writ of habeas corpus granted yesterday in the case of Jesse James son of the famous bandit who was arrested on a charge of guilty knowledge of the Missouri Pacific train robbery He is out on bail.

Aaron P. Howe a well known apple dealer aged 87 was found dead in bed at his home 36 Eliot Street at 12 30 today by boarder Mrs Bromley. He had complained of severe pain in his left arm and dyspepsia last night around 9 30 and probable heart disease is given as the cause.

Dr E B Holt was stabbed twice on August 2 as he walked home on Kirk Street. Private C. C. Hart of Company I Concord died at Hospital No. 2 at 6 30 AM September 26 from typhoid fever after a prolonged illness. He had been ill for some time and was in a critical state for the past week.
At yesterday’s Lowell branch meeting of the Volunteer Aid association the resignation of president Mrs Charlies H Allen was accepted. She will spend the winter in Washington and Mrs H M Thompson was elected president. Dr T H Harrington reported on the 53 sick soldiers in whom the women take an interest.
Sergt. Charles Lang of Wigginville was admitted to St Johns hospital yesterday with malania. William Haigh and Leslie Grant were among other new arrivals there yesterday.
