Prison Escape Shocks Finland Over Murder Case
Helsingfors, Oct. 10. Ho henthal, convicted murderer of Soisalon So ininen, the procurator general of Finland, escaped tonight from Helsingfors prison where he served a life term. Soininen, also known as Johnsson, was shot dead Feb 6 at his home by Karl Leonard Hohenthal, who wounded a son of the victim and later was wounded. Hohenthal, once a student of Imperial Alexander University, acted amid broad condemnation of the procurator general’s handling of laws. The escape was achieved by cutting a half inch iron bar and climbing from a second story window to a street below. a rope ladder aided his exit from a 20-foot wall. No further trace found.
