Exilda Labrec, 188 Lakeview avenue, reported assault by older schoolmates. While returning from an evening class in Centralville, she was taunted and struck in the eye by a missile. Dr. Hurtubise examined her and said sight in one eye is likely lost.

A massive fire at John P. Squire & Co. meat plant on Gore Street Cambridge injures a dozen firemen and one dies. The six and a half story brick complex, insured for about a million, was largely destroyed with damage extending to adjacent office and smokehouse structures. Dozens of workers were treated for injuries at MGH and Cambridge hospitals as crews fought the blaze amid multiple alarms. A missing watchman remains unaccounted for.
John T. Fleming of Wilson Wisconsin, brother of Samuel Fleming, was killed November 8 when a passing freight train struck a group pushing an empty dump car. He died within hours and was buried November 10 in Hersey cemetery, Wilson. Also listed are Hireh F. McCarthy aged 71 of 264 Riverside Street, Thomas Dolan of Market Street, and Margaret F. Tucker of Collinsville aged 41 with five daughters and two sons.
The funeral of Mrs. Mary Lahey was held Saturday morning from her home on Downs block off Adams Street. Services at St. Patrick's church were conducted by Rev. John McHugh with Schmidt's requiem mass sung by the choir.
The funeral services for Elizabeth Hoyle were conducted yesterday afternoon at her residence at 104 Congress Street with Rev. L. C. Manchester officiating. Bearers were William Myers James Hird Samuel Ogley and Allen Hallas. Burial followed in Lowell Cemetery under J. A. Weinbeck direction.
