The captain's mother, age about sixty five and in frail health, resides in Lowell with son William J. Baisley at 13 Gold street. She has not learned of his murder aboard the schooner J. B. Van Dusen, and relatives fear the shock. William J. has gone to St John’s Newfoundland for his brother’s funeral. a nephew from South Boston stays with them. A Boston wife and child were last seen with him. Maxwell is blamed for the fatal quarrel. The inquest in St John’s found the killing occurred on the high seas. the trial location will be at the first American port the Van Dusen reaches.
