Ex-Lieut.-Gov Byron Weston died at his Dalton home after apoplexy. Born in Dalton in 1832 to Isaiah and Caroline Curtis Weston, his ancestry traces to 1622. A noted paper manufacturer, he held multiple local trusts and was elected to the State Senate in 1876 from the north Berkshire district and served as Lieutenant-Governor of Massachusetts in 1879 1880 1882.
