Northampton November 1 District Attorney Hammond urged Justice Stevens to set a sentencing date for Lewis Warner who was convicted in January for misappropriating funds from the Hampshire county National Bank and Hampshire Savings Bank. Warner has not spoken since his conviction and ignores his daughter’s visits at the county jail.

At a regular Post 42 G. A. R. meeting in Memorial Hall, a memorial resolution honored Lieut.-Col. Edward T. Rowell past commander and early member of the post. The resolution lauded his bravery in the Second Regiment Berdan's Sharp Shooters, his wartime service from 1862, and his postwar virtues in business charity and public trust. Patrick Gorman a Tremont and Suffolk mill operative was severely burned about the head and arms Wednesday afternoon while repairing machinery his clothing ignited from a fire he was working over he was taken to Lowell hospital where doctors say he will recover he lives at 166 Suffolk street
