Lane Hanged for Brutal Double Murder in Philadelphia
William Harmon Lane, a colored man, was hanged at 10 08 this morning in Philadelphia for the April 1 murder of Ella Jarden and her two daughters Madeline 12 and Eloise 7. He shot the mother and younger girl after stealing money, then lured the older child from the street before killing her. Lane fled to Camden but was arrested hours later and sentenced to death after confession and hearing.
