In Cambridgeport this morning at 10 45 o clock a dynamite blast blew out the bank office wall injuring cashier Wm F Roaf. Police believe a bank robbery attempt occurred but no cash was taken. The blast centered between the banking room and tellers hall in a brick four story building on a central business street.

London May 21 Shamrock II trailed Shamrock I by two minutes twelve seconds after two hours of racing. The 15 mile windward and return course saw Shamrock I start half a mile ahead but Shamrock II closed the gap before the finish. In the run home Shamrock I regained lead and won by barely half a minute in smooth water with an eight to twelve knot breeze.
Cambridge May 21 Harold A Rich of Dighton fell from a five story window at Weldhall Harvard last night and died at 2 this morning authorities said the incident is under investigation and no further details were released
New York on May 21 reports the death of General Fitz-John Porter in Morristown New Jersey from chronic disease at age eighty.
The bill to extend corporate power for the Lowell, Lawrence and Haverhill Street railway was sent to the next General Court after passing the House. Alderman Miskella led an order urging the mayor to oppose it, arguing it grants unnecessary rights and removes city street control.
Boston May 21 A session of the state legislature redistricting committee adjourned at 1 am after adopting a plan for 14 congressional districts. The vote preserved majorities in several districts, with Sen Codman of Suffolk dissenting and some others considering dissent on Dewey and McPherson proposals. The Boston wards were reallocated into districts including a proposed 8th district and a 9th 10th 11th set, with Newton noted in the 12th district.
The Lowell unit of the 26th Infantry returning from the Philippines received a rousing Huntington Hall welcome. The parade included militia bands, Cadets, Spanish War Veterans, and a large crowd, despite injunctions delaying Memorial Day observances. Mayor Dimon and Alderman Pearson spoke urging full recognition of veterans, defending public funds used for the reception.
