A Dallas dispatch reports a May 19 cyclone near Goliad Texas killing about 90 people and wounding over 120. The tornado tore a two block wide by mile long swath, destroying churches and numerous homes, with relief provided by trains from Victoria Cuero and many volunteers. a partial dead list includes both white and Negro residents.

A New Brighton resident J. C. Atterbury was killed when the Middletown ferry collided with a yacht in fog near the bay. The Middletown carried many passengers but reported no other injuries.
