He urged railroads from Labrador to Patagonia Europe Asia to Siberia to settle populations and redirect emigration, plus Africa Cape to Mediterranean rail to Rhodes ideas and universal peace. He called for fair treatment of Guestiop races including the negro Indian and Chinese and urged cosmopolitan peace as a central aim. The second item discussed relocation plans and potential settlement shifts with up to 700000 seeking entry and 100000 Jews targeted for relocation. Snowed Under The Color Line Drawn At National Meet
Massachusetts club women lost three main issues at the National federation meeting in Los Angeles on May 6. The drive to admit colored clubs failed, the move to disband individual clubs in favor of state federations failed, and the plan to cut the per capita tax from 10 to 5 cents was defeated. Debates remained fierce yet nonbitter, with North and South union for women’s clubs likely to endure. Miss Jane Addams urged two votes needed to bar unwelcome clubs, but the amendment failed. The federation adopted Emma Fox as parliamentarian, and a bid for the next biennial’s entertainment sparked by Mrs Williams of Minneapolis and Mrs Shields of Missouri followed.
