Three drunken defendants appeared before Judge Hadley this morning. Two paid $1 fines and William Sullivan was continued to the next court day for further proceedings.

A man’s body with a gunshot wound was found in Milton woods after weeks of exposure, a woman presumed actress Laura Booth died by a bullet at the New Amsterdam hotel with her companion missing, and another laborer’s body floated in the Shawsheen river with a bound handkerchief over the face, none identified yet. The incidents are treated as possible suicides or murders.

John Faucher, 12 years old, son of Ben Faucher of Somersworth New Hampshire, was struck and killed by a train on the Great Falls branch early Monday evening. The train frightened the horse and the boy's mother and younger brother jumped from the carriage. John remained in the carriage as the horse ran about half a mile up the track before being struck by the engine.

Peyton G Washington who was arrested about ten days ago by State Officer Whitney at Springfield for receiving stolen property failed to appear for trial at the Cambridge police court Tuesday morning. Paul Capdeville was found guilty of breaking and entering and larceny from Col Parker of Lowell and sentenced to five years in the state prison. Judge Bishop later set aside the sentence and required Capdeville to recognize in 10000. bail could not be posted and he was remanded to Cambridge jail. Capdeville provided information leading to Washingtons arrest and partial recovery of stolen funds. Washington appeared at the police court and was held in 600 bail, then taken to Springfield to answer another charge and has since disappeared.
Mayor Bennett and Supt True of the public buildings department will seek competitive interior plans for Huntington hall rebuilding with four to five architects expected to compete.
