The evening service moved to 5 15 to accommodate a temperance rally featuring Senator Roe. Easter services planned. a Good Friday vestry prayer meeting to be held next evening. Ernest Toye visits home from Dartmouth College.

Recent death of Lawrence city physician Dr Frederick H Schaake at 34 from blood poisoning believed to be from a cut while performing surgeries at the city almshouse. Appointed in 1896, he practiced three years in Lawrence and New Bedford after Harvard Medical School.
The Vaughn brothers Robert and Olie faced Judge Hadley as protests crowded the police court. Officer Healey testified he identified both men as his assailants, while witness Green could not ID the younger, and the trial proceeded on charges of assault with intent to kill Healey and Brosnan.

The funeral for Clarissa P. Hunt was held Tuesday at 2 PM from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen P. Miller in Chelmsford. Rev. W. A. Bartlett officiated and burial followed at Abbott in Vermont.
The Alpine club defeated Lowell Council Knights of Columbus in pool and whist, tying the series after last week. Mt Zion Lodge I O G T held a meeting in Good Temars hall with Chief Templar James McGrath, voting to attend the union meeting with Gen Wiske lodge next Monday. The Dramatic Club’s drama Among the Breakers will be repeated Tuesday evening April 11.
The Warren liner Norseman bound Liverpool to Boston ran aground at Tom Moore's ledge near Marblehead Neck in dense fog and heavy seas at 3 10 this morning. A breeches buoy saved the crew of 58 and 44 cattlemen. The hull has a big hole and seven feet of water in the hold. Salvage seems unlikely. ship built in 1882 valued at 400000 with cargo 250000. All aboard were rescued by noon.
