Mrs Catherine Casey who rents rooms at 28 Lawrence Street awoke to a couch burning around 430 this morning. Firemen found smoke filled rooms after a quick alarm from box 35 and extinguished a small blaze that burned the couch, a window curtain, and part of a window. Casey offered no explanation for the incident, noting she does not smoke and all lights were out when she retired. The building is owned by Oscar Vining.
