In Cheyenne Wyoming on March 13 a razor duel occurred near a resort between soldiers of the colored 24th infantry. Corporal Greel House of Company I was fatally stabbed and Sergeant Barnes who was his assailant was badly wounded. Barnes has disappeared and a searching party hunts him.
An ad endorses Provident Life and Trust Co of Philadelphia as one of the finest and strongest U S insurers. It praises the Quaker managed company and urges readers to compare it with rivals, citing agent Robert F. Marden of the Courier-Citizen Building.

In Suffolk county probate court Judge McKim holds a hearing on the Richard Garvey will contest. The case probes a link to his nephew A J Garvey of New York and recalls Garvey’s Tweed ring fortune. If the will is overturned, A J Garvey’s estate could gain 300000 dollars from one quarter of Richard Garvey’s estate. Laura A Murphy, wife of an actor, cared for Garvey as he aged amid allegations she steered him against his daughter.

Financial receipts and expenditures shown with a balance. Mrs Granville Coburn treasurer reports 664.30 received 498.89 spent leaving 165.41. A vote of thanks to the Ladies Aid and a gifted organ presented by Phineas Richardson, with unanimous thanks from Rev F I Kelley.
Arlington police say they solved the W T Wood ice tool factory case by arresting William B. James, bookkeeper, on charges of larceny and breaking and entering after a break last week. The theft totaled 100 dollars, with the safe damaged and ledgers torn and partly burned. James, in Arlington about five years, was found at his Whittemore street home.
A drunken Italian named Signor Macaroni, aboard a Lowell bound car from Lawrence, drew a stiletto on Conductor Edward Nowlan. The conductor and motorman restrained him, tossing him from the car into a ditch. He crawled out hours later and paid his fare to continue to Lowell.
The Lowell Bar Association met in the police court room to act on the death of M. L. Hamblet. Judge Hadley presided, with Secretary George H. Stevens. Alfred P. Joseph F Bickford visited the police station this morning and had a warrant sworn out against Frank Sullivan a bootblack for assault and battery Sullivan was brought into court and continued in 100 until Friday The alleged assault occurred at the People's theatre in Dutton street
