Pittsburg March 12 Two men were killed when a cooker exploded at the McKeesport brewery in McKeesport Pa. The large brick building was wrecked and the adjoining residence roof was blown off. Loss is placed at 100600 dollars with the cause still unknown.
At Gorham New Hampshire on March 12 a switch misplacement sent a double head freight into a locomotive in the round house of the Grand Trunk road. Three engines were destroyed, a brakeman Blaisdell was killed and he leaves a family in Portland Maine. An engineer was injured.
Dr Jameson announced at ten this morning that ex president Harrison is worse with his mind less clear than yesterday and the left lung worse giving little hope of surviving many hours in Indianapolis on March 12.
Washington Pa March 12 During parental absence a residence near here burned resulting in the deaths of three children aged one three and five years old.
The North Carolina General Assembly, in session, opts not to enact new cotton mill labor laws. Mill owners sign an agreement limiting work to sixty six hours weekly and prohibiting under twelve year olds, with exceptions, while pledging cooperation on education and asking the legislature to refrain from further labor legislation this term.

Sullivan led the principal solemn high anniversary festival mass, assisted by Rev. John Mul len as deacon and Rev. Dr. F. X. Dolan as sub-deacon.
A social and entertainment evening at the M B church vestry drew a large Granitville crowd. Supper served 6 to 8 pm by ladies and waiters, followed by readings, duets, and a book author contest with Miss C B Hewitt winning 31 of 35 names. Proceeds totaled 20.25 dollars. Foresters basketball lost 18 to 0 to Lowell Dodos, with team rumored to disband until next season and plans for bagé ball practice after snow melts.

Zepherine Lachance seen in a Salem street doorway on Monday as neighbors reported food thefts from ice chests in tenement halls. Officer Buchanan arrested him at the Gage ice houses on Pawtucket street, Lachance booked for drunkenness and held for police court. Louis and John Varoutsos faced assault charges. George Brady jailed for three months. Patrick Garrigan fined six dollars. Zepherine Perusse pleaded not guilty then paid a thirty three cent fine.
Residents on Salem street report a man with a healthy appetite taking food from ice chests in hallways. He allegedly released eggs and other items on Sunday and a five-pound roast on Monday. Lachance was caught prowling nearby but cleared. Officer Buchanan detained him on Paiwtucket Street on drunkenness charges.
After a one hour session this morning Judge Lawton held hearings in Hall v Hunt. Harriet F. Hall won judgment against J. L. Hunt for 59 dollars. Hunt appealed taxation of costs and asked for a stay of judgment. Costs to be taxed by clerk. appeal to be heard Friday or Monday. A related Hunt v Hall case is set for the 18th.
