Almost lynched Syrian man saved by police in New York mob
A mob of about 300 longshoremen dragged Assad H. Enchor from his room in the West Side and lynching was imminent after a dispute over alleged mistreatment of an 11 year old girl. Police intervened, using clubs and revolvers to disperse the crowd. Enchor was taken to the station while Michael Reagan, the father of the alleged victim, struck him and warned of future violence. The assault case against Enchor was postponed to tomorrow.
