The May Queen and Vesper steamers, the river's largest, broke moorings this morning and drifted across the canal mouth, riding high above the banks. Both boats secured to either bank as the old Daniel Gage is dragged onto the bank. Smaller craft nearly sank as their moorings released. The club house froat sits high and Pawtucket street back yards flood between the canal bridge and School Street.
