The Oblates of Mary Immaculate held a Paris convent election with 42 members, eight bishops, electing Pere Augier as superior general after Pere Souillier’s death. Born in Nice in 1845, Augier joined Notre Dame des Lumieres at 15 and was ordained in 1869, later serving at Ajaccio’s Grand Seminary.

Mrs Jane McGuirk aged 49 died yesterday afternoon at St Johns hospital. She was the wife of John McGuirk long employed as head mason on the Boott corporation. She leaves a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
The funeral of William Husband occurred yesterday afternoon from his Robinson's Court home. St. Anne's curate led the service with bearers from the Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias. Burial followed at Edson cemetery under Young's direction.

Burglars cracked a Dunstable post office safe of stamps and cash, with two strangers seen near Nelson’s house later that night.
J A L Julian of Barre and Miss Emma J Davis daughter of the late Jacob A Davis of Malone N Y were married Saturday evening before 7 pm by Rev P M McKenna at the Summer street parsonage. Best man Henry C Whitaker editor of the Telegram and bridesmaid Susie E Cummings attended. The couple will reside at 29 South Main Street and received gifts including a rocking chair from the Times office staff.
Arthur W. Grant of C. I. Hood & Co and Miss Grace T. Mason were married at 6 last night at 676 South Wilder Street by Rev. H. Lockhart. Only close friends attended with Walter A. Chase as best man and Miss Florence R. Blood as bridesmaid. The bride wore white muslin and carried roses. After a short wedding tour the couple will reside at 676 South Wilder Street.
Edward W. Devaney and Rose A. Cox of this city were married by Rev. A N Wilson at the Paige Street Free Baptist parsonage 109 Methuen Street on June 23.
The Old Saugus race track opens next week with its first meeting of the year in charge of William F. Hitchins, previously James O. Gray’s assistant. Horses from Combination and Dover race here for the offered purse. The meeting starts Tuesday with two strong races.

Numerous students and teachers, such as John Arthur Bennett and Arthur Scott Thomas, participate, with audience attendance noted.
The ceremony included selections from Tl Trovatore and class odes, with diplomas presented by Dr George F Thomas and addressed by John C Burke Esq. The program featured names Bertha Beatrice Bagshaw Emily Denham Bennett Mary Elizabeth Gertrude Cassidy Minnie Eaton Coburn and others.
The eighteenth annual commencement at Immaculate Conception School was held in the school hall with a large audience. An address by Rev. Wm. D. Joyce followed, and tonight prizes will be awarded as the programme changes. The evening featured a lengthy list of performances including marches, songs, recitations, scenes, and a student drill.
