Charles Losee a colored delegate to a convention in St Louis was shot at 1 am while returning home. After asking directions he spoke to Robert M. Phiel, who fired five times, wounding Losee in the shoulder. Phiel claimed he believed Losee intended to rob him.
In Palmer Kansas criminals entered the bank at 3 o clock yesterday morning and robbed the cash box of 1100 dollars with no clue to the culprits. Building and safe damage is estimated at 1800 dollars. Local police investigated.
In Portland Pawtucket won 10 to 0 over Portland. Lewiston defeated Brockton 9 to 0. Fall River triumphed 3 to 1 over Bangor. New Bedford edged Augusta 9 to 7 in Augusta.
Jersey City June 13 Edward Clifford a West Shore railroad detective was found guilty of first degree murder in the death of Superintendent William S Watson who had dismissed him.
