Cotton Down Prices Hit 9 Cents as Market Turns Bearish

Cotton prices slipped to 9 cents a pound in Memphis over the week amid bearish government acreage and condition signals. Exporters stayed out, buyers paused, and the market showed limited demand with spinners split between the North East and South. Stocks remain low and near-term prospects favor higher prices if supply tightens, though most holders wait for better levels. The week saw modest receipts and larger shipments, with weather improving and crops advancing in the belt. The piece notes past market memory and hints at cautious optimism tied to a limited supply decline.
