London dispatch reports The Birmingham Post claims an official Hague source says Kruger plans to board the Dutch cruiser Friesland off Lorenzo Marques. It says Kruger has decided to seek refuge there and that instructions have been sent to the Friesland’s commander.
A Tien Tsin correspondent reports the journey to Pekin with Gen Nieh and 60 troops. Fire and arson erupt as villagers burn cabins and destroy poles while flags reading Kill all foreigners fly. Nieh refuses to advance, fearing Boxers after witnessing bullets seemingly fail against foes.
The Senate convened at 11 and began considering unobjected House pension bills. fifty eight passed and were sent to the President before a one hour adjournment. The House met at 10 and adjourned, with the legislative session starting at noon.
News from the Empress of India reports a serious uprising in North Borneo against the chartered company rule. Several Britons were killed and seven wounded while twenty five Chinese perished and the city environs were devastated. The event reflects broad dissatisfaction with colonial administration.

Boston June 6 Roger Whitmore a seaman on the steamship Kansas fell into the hold at Hoosac Tunnel docks this morning. He died 15 minutes later. Whitmore 33 lived in Liverpool and was single. Body removed to North Grove street morgue.
The June 6 hearing before Referee Nussbaum on the state action to bar the American Ice Company from operating in New York was adjourned to next Tuesday.
The 34th annual Merrimack River Baptist Sunday School convention opened at Second Baptist Church Lawrence with about 350 attendees. Officers elected include President George E. Murray First Baptist Lawrence vice president H H Hill Andover, secretary treasurer Rev Nathan Bailey Methuen, and an executive committee featuring Rev KL BE Seates North Billerica and others. Rev A R Dilllis gave the first address on a prime element in faith and service.

A 10 year old boy Riendeau drowned this morning in the canal near the Moody street bridge while playing with his brother. He lived in Little Canada with his parents. An undertaker named Albert is searching for the body.

Daniel Martin a board of health employee who stabbed Peter J. Noonan was held on $800 bonds for the next Lowell grand jury after pleading not guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon. Noonan testified he was wounded in the abdomen during a morning dispute near O Donnell s grocery on Chapel street. The defense offered no evidence and Judge Hadley ordered Martin held for the October grand jury.
Police court in Hadley held a lengthy session with many pleas of not guilty. Larceny defendants Thomas Moore Patrick McNamara and John Rogers were processed with two jailed or defaulted outcomes. Juvenile larceny defendants were continued to tomorrow, several drunks released, fines imposed on Ralph Joncas John Ryan and Martin Joyce, and further actions on obstructing streets and railer charges.
Box 113 summoned the department to a slight fire at 97 Root corporation last evening at 10.40. A bed in a large attic room was on fire but was extinguished by the protective company. Cause unknown. Landlady Mrs L D Sanbourn said the room was unoccupied and the occupant, a young man, had not yet returned from cycling, noted for sobriety.
A morning delegation led by Chief Cloyes of Cambridge police Aldermen Longs and Brooks and police commissioners toured the station. Clerk Mr. McDuffie and Health Board chairman Hon G G Perkins of Wellesley attended. Major Noyes guided a mill tour in the afternoon.
Inspector Allen arrested an Armenian on Charles Street early this afternoon for stealing 2.25 from a fellow countryman. The prisoner has a prior larceny conviction and was previously held for the grand jury, but the case was settled before trial. The name is unpronounceable.

H Ballard Gray, a 20 year old with bright prospects, killed himself by poison at the grave of his fiancée Miss Maud Howard in Boison cemetery. Found by workmen, notes to mother and Miss Howard, and requests for funeral help reveal a grief driven tragedy. Gray had recently worked for Harrington Rintels Drug Co in Lynn and had been deeply attached to Miss Howard, who died last May.

George E. Kittredge, a Lowell area resident, was taken to the Lowell jail by Inspector Allen and will stay under Sheriff Baker’s care until Saturday morning’s hearing. Neighbors recall puzzling behavior, including alleged anonymous letters and prowling around Willie Street, with claims tying him to various local incidents and a possible pattern of theft from Merrimack Street residents.
Priscilla J. Monahan aged 2 years 3 months died in Haverhill on June 5. Her body was brought to this city today for burial in Edson cemetery. Lulu F. Lyon, age 23, died at 58 Liberty Street this morning. She worked as a typewriter at the board of health office for years but left work due to long rheumatism.
Dennison in Portland Maine June 6 funeral held at graveside in Ed son cemetery at 145 o clock. Kendrick in North Chelmsford June 6 Delia Kendrick aged 58 funeral at her home Friday afternoon at 2 o clock. Friends invited.
Police report Henry Castle, a Lowell resident, was found dead in the Woonasquatucket River near Merino Flats, R. I. A Providence despatch notes he had lived in Lowell and had relatives here including F. P. Faulkner, director of St. Patrick's church choir.
Fred C. Church insured the John Kearney residence at 7 John Street after a small fire last night. The Roche and Smith note Irish battalion use by Boers. Lowell Land Company says Appleton Street land is not leased for hospital use and has no such intent.
