Twenty auto owners met at the Courier-Citizen office to plan an Aug. 11 auto excursion for Lowell orphans. About 109 children from four asylums will ride to a Pleasant spot, with light refreshments and a return by 6 pm. Organizers seek more cars and drivers, stressing safety and no racing.

John Schidlofski A Complete Wreck
Boston, July 29. John Schidlofski, arrested in Colorado for murdering his wife at Belmont on July 12, arrived in custody of State Officers Whitney and Rhoades. He is brought to Middlesex county jail for an expected hearing early next week. A crowd of about 1000 met him at North station as he collapsed emotionally, was examined by Chief Shaw, and described as a complete wreck on arrival.

Man Killed At Boston & Maine Depot In Train Yard
Wiliam Boudry, a veteran flagman at Middlesex street station, was killed when a shifter engine struck him near the Chelmsford street bridge at about 11 20 this morning. He died instantly after being crushed between the rails, as bystanders and yard workers mourned the loss of a long-time employee. His body was taken to the baggage room and later to Undertaker Currie’s, with Irish to examine. Boudry, about 60, had recently bought a farm in Chelmsford and planned to retire there.
