The Knapp house in Middlesex street was raided at about 1.30 am Sunday. Four people were found. two couples faced charges of fornication and adultery with pleas and bonds. Other cases include a drunkenness roundup, a peep and battery incident on Bridge Street, and a knife assault linked to a wedding feast, with several defendants held or sent to the State farm.

Shortly after 6 o clock Sunday evening an overheated chimney in a Winter street building owned by Michael Corbett set fire to the flooring surrounding it. A telephone alarm sent to an engine house, and the blaze was quickly extinguished with slight damage. Earlier, at 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon, a fire in a Lawrence street building owned by T Maxwell started from an overheated chimney. The Lawrence street engine house responded and the fire was put out before serious damage occurred.
