The Solicitors Loan and Trust company under president Richard W. Clay has assigned to Col. T DeWitt Cuyler one of its directors. Clay signed bonds totaling 150000 without director knowledge. Directors repudiated the action as the company faced the obligation. Assets are reported sufficient to cover all liabilities regardless of the outcome.
Pontiac Michigan January 3 1900s era report says Fireman Ensign has filed a $200000 claim against Spain. He was suspected twenty years ago of Cuban revolutionary sympathy and, with two companions, imprisoned without trial. The others died in confinement while Ensign escaped to a harbor vessel and is now 72.
Atlanta January 3 twenty Dahomey natives attempted to kill XN Pene who owns them for an exposition exhibit. Pene held on 35000 bond to return them home but funds were lost and he cannot fulfill the contract.
Lee Crum, a white man, was found murdered about two miles from Antlers Indian Territory last night. Two Choctaw boys aged 12 and 16 are accused of the crime and of mutilating the body by scalping and severing ears.

The Y P W L of C E at the first Primitive Methodist church elected officers Thursday night led by President Elizabeth Ogley and Vice President Annie Heading.
