South Norwalk Connecticut February 22 Ni cademo Impessino accused as a suspected accomplice of Giuseppe Fuda in the alleged murder of Fuda's wife has been arrested in the city.
London newspapers praise John Hay for likely appointment as ambassador to the court of St. James. They call the selection admirable and favorable.

Joseph Payeur, 37, hanged himself from a gas pipe in his Harrison avenue room in Boston on Sunday after prolonged unemployment. Rev. Mark B. Taylor, pastor of Canton Congregational church and national chaplain of the G A R, surprised his congregation by announcing his resignation to take the Park Congregational church in Brooklyn, N Y, starting April first.

Charles Thomas of Boston and Frank Sullivan of Montreal were arrested Sunday night after breaking into E. C. Luques coal office on Water street Biddeford. They were found asleep on a second floor by the owner. entry came through a basement window and drawers were ransacked. Police believe they planned to blow the safe later.
Carl Shaal aged 84 was found dead in bed at his Roxbury home Sunday morning by his son. Officials cite gas escaping from a partly opened burner as the cause, with a night light left burning and a window wind blowing out the flame leading to gas suffocation despite light air from the window.
A Paris despatch reports that Dr. William Steinitz died in Moscow from a mental disorder. Born in Prague on May 14 1836 he rose to fame by defeating Anderssen in 1866 to claim the world chess title. He played in Dublin 1865 Paris 1867 Dundee 1867 Baden 1870 London 1872 3 Vienna 1878 1882 and St Petersburg last year.
Rumor circles that a price was offered for any Republican councilman voting against removing the Mayor’s appointees. A conference of Republicans has been convened to discuss. Only one branch of the City Council meets tomorrow night as City Hall remains closed for the holiday.

Flaherty of Nashua as treasurer. New members were admitted and the next meeting will be in their city. Letters from congressmen promised attention to the clerks bill. Congressman Knox sent regrets. Refreshments followed.
Charles M Weeks died Saturday at his home 155 Hale Street aged 61. He leaves a wife and nine children two sons and seven daughters. He was a member of Kane lodge Masons Lisbon and a Woodsville Odd Fellows lodge. The body will be sent there for burial. Funeral services for Mrs Anne Heath were held at J A Weinbeck parlors with Rev R A Greene officiating and bearers Miller Tobin David and Charles Miner. The funeral of Mrs Anna S Janson followed from her Lundberg Street home at 2 30 pm and burial was in Edson cemetery with Undertaker Currier in charge.

Charles Miller a brakeman for the New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad on the Lowell and South Framingham branch slipped while climbing a moving freight car at Framingham. His left arm was crushed at the shoulder and his right wrist mangled. He is at Framingham hospital in a precarious condition. He resides at 40 Wamesit Street.
William Henthorne was arrested by Officer Martin Maher Saturday night on a cloak theft charge from Chris Holmes store. He faces a drunk in public charge to be recorded at today’s police court session.

Edmond de Guise of St Genevieve de Botescon married Miss Marie Louise Germain in a ceremony conducted by Rev Pere Forget Despotes of the Oblate Fathers' home. Witnesses included P F Germain, father of the groom, and M Cornier, his uncle.
On February 22 five individuals were discharged after drunkenness arrests while eleven others received fines. Thomas Dever of the state farm and William Hancock for larceny were fined fifteen dollars or two months. contested cases were continued until tomorrow.
