In Boston on February 14 Massachusetts Grand Army veterans met at Faneuil Hall for a two day session of their 26th annual encampment. The Massachusetts Woman's Relief Corps also held its annual meeting led by Mrs Annie M Warne. The relief report noted 8938 passed to posts and relief value other than money 1960 with leadership thanks to Edward P Preble. Membership stands at 14608 up 416, with other state groups meeting.

Trainman Killed in Boston & Maine Collision
Gilbertville February 14 A rear end crash between two west bound freight trains on the Central Massachusetts division of the Boston and Maine railroad killed Joseph Dupre of Boston a railroad employee who had only three weeks on the job. Three cars of the local freight were telescoped and the track torn up about 200 feet as No 525 switching cars collided with No 1069 during yard operations. Brakeman Dupre was in the caboose and was thrown from the rear car and killed instantly.
