Augustus A. Bernard, manager of the Akerstrom company, was arrested Monday by Sheriff Stiles on a megae process and took the poor debtor's oath before Judge Hadley yesterday. The judgment of $1600 for printing by the St. Felix sisters, entered years ago, is the basis. Bernard claims no responsibility for the lot as he was not in charge then. New York lawyers for the printing house tried to block the oath.

Washington report states John alias Patsy Harris, a convicted African American murderer, was executed by hanging at the District of Columbia jail at 11 30 this morning. The event concludes Harris's conviction and sentence under local law.

The Police court held a short session today. Arthur Renaud, Joseph E. Burnet and Henry C. Faber pleaded guilty to drunkenness and received fines of 3 dollars. William Dennis, charged with obtaining money under false pretences, was fined 20 dollars.
A merry crowd of young people from St Michael's church hired several cars and went to No. Chelmsford for a good time last night. The town hall was at their service and dancing and refreshments were enjoyed after which the party returned. Rev Fras O'Brien Scannell and Gilday were members of the party.

City Street Committee hearing at City Hall debated seven improvement petitions. Key items included a northerly Nineteenth street sidewalk project from Beacon to Willard and a crossing. Middlesex to Appleton street link between Odd Fellows building and Calef property. Sidney street from Moore street. and Chelmsford street widening from Midland to Chelmsford town line. Supporters cited traffic needs and Congestion relief. opponents warned of land takings and costs, with figures ranging from 30 000 to 50 000 dollars and property owners voicing objections. The committee left the petitions with no remonstrants and the session ended with the first two petitions highlighted for further consideration.
