Cambridge today reports Middlesex county grand jury returned a true bill against George L. O. Perry the alleged slugger. He is indicted for the murder of Miss Agnes McPhee of Somerville and for the murder of Clara Morton in this city.
Berlin reports the German navy will not buy four foreign built battleships for 17,500,000 dollars due to imperial finances and the desire to maintain uniform armament and turret systems. Navy staff prefer ships with compatible calibers and machinery. Ansaldo Genoa says the second Argentine battleship will be launched next week.
Boston February 13 a meeting of the board of officers of the Sixth regiment M V M was held at the South armory Col Darling presiding. It was announced that marks manship medals would be distributed at the next company meeting. A committee reported on ownership of three long lost boxes found on the transport Sedgwick with items including rifles, beef, socks, books and an organ.
Cornelius J. Buckley risked his life near Boston and Maine tracks near the Malden station when Mrs. Horace Bradbury and her four year old son stepped onto the inward rail as an outward express approached. He shoved them back to safety then leapt to the platform as the express sped past, narrowly escaping injury himself. The brave act was witnessed by many locals who praised Buckley’s quick action.
The collier Ajax arrived from San Juan de Puerto Rico with the remains of nine sailors killed in the 12 inch gun turret explosion aboard the battleship Massachusetts. The bodies were taken to New York for interment after the Ajax anchored off Tompkinsville.
Thomas Guthrie sustained a slight injury when his right foot was caught under a box at the Middlesex mills this morning and was taken to the Emergency hospital. Donald Hart, 52, had the fourth finger of his right hand caught in machinery at W. W. Carey’s machine shop on Broadway and was admitted to the Emergency hospital. he lives at 11 Marsh Street.
Lynn Feb 13 Fred Lechamp of Cincinnati strike breaker was charged with assault but the complaint was changed to violation of city ordinances for discharging a revolver on public streets. He pleaded guilty and case continued to Monday as police review his claim of self defense amid egg and ice attacks by 25 to 30 men. George Brown held for juvenile court on disorderly conduct. Frank Berlarty fined $5 for disobeying officers. Eggs bombarded Connolly block front as strike breakers board there.

In Clinton on February 13 a fierce wind exceeding 60 mph caused major havoc. At Boylston four miles away the steeple of the Congregational church collapsed through the roof, damaging the building but injuring no one. The steeple had been weakened earlier and fell at 12 15 PM.

Lynnfield Massachusetts February 13 Mrs Leora R Tebbets was appointed postmaster at Lynnfield today confirming a local government staffing change. The appointment was announced by the federal postal authorities and places Mrs Tebbets in charge of the Lynnfield post office.
