The Grange and West Chelmsford Debating Society debated control of the Philippine Islands. Judges Frost Read and Snow favored the Debating Society with Herbert Fletcher and John Monahan presenting the affirmative. The Grange, led by Rev Buckshorn and L W Wheeler, challenged with strong logic and figures. Next meeting Feb 16 features Westford Centre scenic observatory discussion and poems plus Madagascar songs with uniform accompaniment.
A Saturday blaze in the Mishawum club kitchen at the Dow building on Main Street, Woburn, caused extensive damage. Rev S T Ford is improving though confined to his room. Evangelist meetings led by Rev F M Lamb will start Wednesday night and continue until Ford resumes work by week’s end. Services are held daily at 3 30 in the afternoon and 7 20 in the evening.
