Hoff president of Turnagain Arm Gold Mining Co. of Phoenix Alaska was arrested in Chicago on New Year Eve as police probe the death of Mrs. Nora Hammers found in her room with a bullet in her brain. Hoff admits being present with his revolver but says she killed herself. he previously lived in Minneapolis as a Great Northern station agent. Mrs Hammers hailed from Boston.
