Prince Henry XV of Pless may become German ambassador

Berlin reports that if Dr. von Holleben retires within a year Emperor William may appoint Prince Henry XV of Pless as ambassador in Washington. The Prince, recently back from New York, seeks the post and is supported by high court figures, while alternatives include Dr Mumm von Schwarzenstein in China and Baron Speck von Sternberg, seen with mixed reactions in Washington and by President Roosevelt. Prince Henry previously served as secretary to the German embassy in London.
