Tacoma inventor George Roberts seeks patents for steam mountain and steam ice sleds to reach Dawson City by January. The steam mountain sled uses a boiler on a pivot with a nine horse power engine to haul three tons per trip up Chilkoot pass while anchored steel cable and capstans aid ascent. Ice sleds, twenty feet long, will pull three trailers each and carry steam through hollow runners, with a stern wheel featuring spike projections for ice. Roberts plans to deliver a load of fresh meat to Dawson in January.
Choc taw and Chickasaw leaders at Antlers I T have decided to form a colony and emigrate to Mexico. They seek cheap land there and ask U S Indian Agent Wisdom to lead the effort. They propose selling their U S lands to fund homes in Mexico, arguing treaties allow such action and citing the Dawes commission as authorized to negotiate for the Indian country.
Montevideo November 80 Senor Cuestas president issues decree exiling Dr Miguel Herrera y Obes former minister of interior and justice Dr Aguirre and General Tajes. Herrera previously challenged Cuestas calling for a defined political program in the next election. Cuestas ordered guards around Herrera's residence, claiming Herrera led a plot to kidnap him.

Wilson S. Emery was arraigned in the Police court yesterday charged with embezzlement of a trip ticket between Lowell and Boston. The ticket belonged to T. H. Keiley, the pawn- shop owner, and was reportedly misused in a transaction linked to Keiley's business.
The matter was settled with Emery paying for the book and the costs of prosecution, finalizing the dispute.
An 1897 letter to Gen Dimon from the Navy Department reports four 32-pounder guns and 11 inch projectiles will be issued from Boston Navy Yard for the soldiers burial lot in Lowell, to be removed at no cost to the government.
