New York on August 22 reports Addie Christiansen rose in a balloon at Bergen beach on Saturday and tried to descend by parachute. The parachute failed and she fell into the water. She was retrieved unconscious and later died.

Mr John T Ogden of U S Bunting at No 4 Olive Street traveled with his wife a son and nephew on a tele scoped train from Providence in Sharon Sunday night They were in the middle car when a rush for the rear car caused a collision They were thrown forward Mrs Ogden was bruised but not seriously hurt The Ogdens and the boys escaped serious harm and were lucky to flee to a safer car
In Judge Hadley’s court this morning thirty three drunks were fined mostly one or five dollars after the Saturday Sunday harvest home. James Gannon and Patrick Curtin receive six months at Bridgewater state farm. Ellen Manning goes to the work house for three months. John Hopkins must seek admission to the common jail for three months. Napoleon Demers is fined twenty dollars for assault. Charles C Stewart and Mary Dewitt pay ten dollars for immoral conduct. Cornelius J Crowe charged with staying in a barn and later assault and battery on Chagnon. Trespass fined ten dollars and assault five dollars.
At City Hall the furniture contracts for two new schools were signed after delays. The Varnum school would have faced serious complications without furnishings, as overflow rooms were prepared for the annex and September pupil reports. The lands and buildings department is humorously accused of overcharging, with the school department paying nothing in ten years and the fire department totaling only $28.06 in 1890-91.
Funeral services were held yesterday and Saturday for Nancy Healey Ellen Collins Bridget Hard and Susan McElligott. Healey was buried in Concord cemetery with O Donnell arranging and bearers McGovern Jordan Maguire and Lavery. Collins was buried in the Catholic cemetery with bearers Coughlin Mahoney Dwyer Carney Bradley Gannon and O Donnell in charge. Hard was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery with O Donnell in charge. McElligott was buried in Lowell Catholic cemetery with O Donnell arranging.
