Young Man Who Emulated Tracy's Example
Barre Vermont August 4 Edward Isherwood 22 inspired by outlaw Tracy began a spree Friday afternoon. He broke into farmer Edward Cole’s house and threatened a farm laborer and two women with a revolver. A 20-man posse hunted him. deputy sheriff Sylvester Bothwell captured him later. Isherwood previously served five years for attacking Mrs Cole in 1897 and offered no defense this time. The escape led to a village alert and bells rung as residents kept vigil with shotguns and clubs ready. The manhunt merged with a separate highway robbery scare as Isherwood fled into the woods.

Young man charged after explosion at Claire Street home
Thomas J. Sullivan faced police court on charges of unlawfully using an explosive and drunkenness. Bail was set at 1000 dollars for the explosive charge and 100 for drunkenness. He lived at 23 Bowdoin Street and had worked for Macallar Parker & Co then Adam Mack & Sons. Survived by a wife and two children with two sisters and a brother. Roxbury Veterans and Braintree unions members praised his skill and jovial nature. Funeral services were held at Edson Cemetery with Rev. R A Greene officiating and Undertaker Currier in charge.
