Desperate Fight at Rural Grocery Burglary
In Grafton Pennsylvania burglars blew open Rathman and Pressler’s grocery store at 1 80 o clock. A fierce clash with officers and citizens followed. Officer Thomas Westcott was shot in the leg and Officer Wm Peak head struck by a heavy chisel. Peak’s condition is serious. The burglars escaped with about $50 cash and fled toward the Steubenville pike, pursued by a large posse. they had not been captured at last report.
