AP report from Sackett's Harbor New York describes a grim crime near U S infantry barracks. George Allen a barracks steward hired a team to escort a young Bailey and divorced Crouch in a carriage. At 2 30 this morning the horse drew the carriage to a stable where the women's bodies were found. Allen later appeared battered claiming the Crouch husband attacked the group and killed the two women before casting Allen into a creek. Crouch woman is in custody.
New York on April 15 announced the planned order of march for the Grant monument memorial parade. The Military grand division totals 4 000 regulars and marines, the National Guard divisions include 5 000 New York guards, 3 000, 2 500, 2 500 men from various states, with other divisions listing cadets 4 000, veterans 10 000, and civic groups 10 000 under specified commanders.
In Crawfordsville Indiana on April 16 Edward Reynolds tried to rescue his companion Richard Bennett from a black damp well. Bennett died and Reynolds was gravely injured and likely to die from his injuries. Bennett had previously saved Reynolds from drowning. Reynolds refused escape and attached the rope to Bennett before being hauled out nearly dead.
Massachusetts: Springfield city library has received 384000 in donations since its formation and expects about 400000 more to be spent. Survivors of rebel prisons will meet at Ware on Monday with dinner served by the womans relief corps and Capt Jack Adams among the speakers. Boston bound steamers flood the harbor with 40 ships on the ocean at present the largest fleet yet reported.
Oliver Pike, once believed dead in the Salt Lake City trunk case, has appeared alive and written from Fayette to his relatives. The trunk, bought at an auction of unclaimed freight, contained a decomposed body with a fractured skull, shipped from Salt Lake and stored in the freight office three weeks before sale, widening the case’s intrigue.
A New York Central west bound fast mail struck Michael McLaughlin of Syracuse this morning. He suffered a fractured skull and may die. McLaughlin, employed on canal work in Syracuse, escaped instant death in a remarkable accident.

A seven year old child of Francis Ignes was abducted from a school by the mother, from whom the father separated a year ago. No trace of the child is known as of today April 16.
James Jackson Storrow, Boston born patent lawyer and Bell Telephone counsel, died in Washington. Born July 22, 1837, he studied law under Charles Jackson in Boston, read law with Elias Merwin, attended Harvard Law School, and was admitted to the bar in 1860. He married Anne Perry in 1861 and later Annie Dexter, had three children, and in later years specialized in patent law. He represented Venezuela in the Venezuela dispute and led the Sawyer spindle case earlier in his career.

The Sun reports police are investigating alleged dog poisonings in Centralville after an Irish setter owned by Albert G. McCurdy died from poisoning. The dog was described as intelligent and suffering greatly. Other dogs in the area were poisoned recently. Supt. Davis says no complaints have been filed at his office.
On Friday morning in Police Court six intoxication cases were heard. Five defendants paid a fine of one dollar each. Oscar Rockus was jailed for ten days. One or two minor cases were continued.

The 39th annual session of the grand lodge of Good Templars of this state closed at Worcester Thursday afternoon. Officers were elected in Boston and Cambridge for various posts and appointees named. Delegates to the Zurich international convention and alternates were chosen. Next year’s convention will meet in Boston.

A quiet wedding was celebrated last night at 28 Moore Street, as Willard P. Taylor and Henrietta Glover of Boston were married. Minnie Harrington played the Wedding March, with Taylor's brother and his wife among the out of town guests.
